And here is the Angel
All glory and splendour
Turning up uninvited
The whole flat illuminated
By his very presence
He barely fits with those wings
I’m standing in the kitchen
Ladle in hand
Not knowing what to do
Is my time up? – a terrible thought struck me
But what about the cutlets?
It’d be a waste to toss them
Actually, it’s good he came – I thought a moment later
Better him than the other guy
Lucky for me, it’s a mess up there too
I guess I didn’t make the most of this life – a sad thought
So many pleasures saved for later
I was even supposed to find a boyfriend later
Come, it is time – he spoke with closed lips
I don’t want to, it’s too soon – I replied, stalling
Is it polite to whack him with a ladle?
You want more time? What for? – he asked, genuinely intrigued
I want to love someone, live for another person
It’s what I’ve always wanted!
He stepped closer, drilling me with his gaze
I thought I’d die a second time under that icy stare
Then he stroked my cheek
An unearthly sensation!
Well, alright – he said suddenly
But don’t put it off any longer
And he left
Leaving me with this ladle
Like a damn magic wand
